I Paraphrase Your Milkshake

I got a message from a cousin not too long ago. It went like this...

22Oct/094

I feel incredibly alienated at work. Really.

As for my job, I do IT support for a local business where I live in Michigan. I rarely leave my office anymore, even for lunch. I go to the kitchen, make my lunch, go back to my office. I do this while wearing my headphones the entire time.

This incident happened yesterday, Wednesday the 21st of October. Have any of you seen that Sony Ericsson chain letter including an image of a fake Sony Ericsson campaign that tells you to send this email to 20 people CCing the fake Sony address for a free laptop?

Snopes - Sony Ericsson Laptop Giveaway Hoax

Yeah, that one. Well, it was circulating at the office yesterday and was starting to spread like wildfire. There were many people that were sending it to at least 20 people, including non-employees, which is a big no-no already.

I didn't want people to continue spamming this JPEG (another no-no) for free laptops in this economy right before the holidays. Not only that, but what if someone got in trouble for sending this around? This would definitely fall under company email abuse. I felt it was my duty as the IT guy, I guess.

I figured I'd just send out an email with Sony's official statement straight from Snopes. I figured the worst that would happen would be a few people going, "Oh, well. I knew it was fake, but whatever, right? Just another chain letter."

I was wrong.

Moments after sending my reply, I had one employee call my extension and started complaining about how I sent it to everyone listed in the forward. That I did, yes. I sent it to everyone listed in the chain, not just the employees. She apparently thought I was trying to make her look silly to her friends, family, and coworkers.

She eventually hung up after a few kind words. I don't want to be stubborn, but I thought I was trying to help. It's a desperate time and those that could really use an awesome gift, such as a laptop, would send this to everyone they know.

Second response from another coworker, except this time, she actually came into my office. She tried to explain that I had no business telling everyone that this campaign was false and I should have let them go on with their bliss. That is almost verbatim.

About 30 minutes went by and I have this email sitting in my inbox...

Hey……………..you are being mean, I don’t think it hurts to try and get something for free. Did it cost anything to forward it? The answer to that should be ‘NO’ but you yelled at me!!!!!!!!!!! I was being a friend and thought MAYBE you could use one for a Xmas gift.

*Her Name,* the PRESIDENT and CO-FOUNDER of the he’s being mean club

Here is my email in full.

This is a hoax. Please do not spam this chain letter around.

Please go to http://www.snopes.com and check it for yourself. Sony Ericsson has made no such offer. This is a really old chain letter.

“Sony Ericsson has been made aware of an online email campaign claiming that Ericsson will give away a free laptop computer to users who forward the promotional information. The same campaign includes a photograph of the Sony Ericsson logo and mentions an Ericsson contact name and email number.

Sony Ericsson confirms that this email campaign is a hoax. In addition, Sony Ericsson confirms that the Ericsson contact name does not exist.

All competitions and promotions involving Sony Ericsson are run through official channels such as Sony Ericsson's website or Sony Ericsson's partners' websites. Please be wary of any competition or promotion that appears to come from outside of Sony Ericsson or Sony Ericsson's partners official channels. Examples of these include via spam emails or SMS.

Please do not reply to or forward the email if you receive it.”

I started having doubts about sending that email later, but the email was the last of the responses of the 30-40 people as of today. Maybe the people that appreciated the input remained silent?

Do you, dear reader, think I was wrong for sending that response?

Blasphemy in Ireland Now Punishable Under Law

Holy shit.

I thought this was a joke or someone taking a recent The Onion article seriously again. Sadly, it's not. There are far more details about the blasphemy law than I could get into right because that would involve a lot of copying and pasting. Plus it's 2:00AM.

Blasphemy law is silly, dangerous and unjust

It really does seem dangerous and overwhelming. Punishable by a fine up to 25,000-Euros? That's about $35,000 USD. Imagine being hit with a fine like that because someone either had completely different religious convictions and beliefs or simply does not believe in a supernatural being.

A lot of religious folk might cheer at this law, but this really could, and will, be used against them as well as the atheist of the land. It's not a double edged sword as there will be no real "winners" as a result of this new law except those delicious coffers receiving the cash for these hefty fines.

∙ Atheists can be prosecuted for saying that God is imaginary. That causes outrage.

∙ Pagans can be prosecuted for saying they left Christianity because God is violent and bloodthirsty, promotes genocide, and permits slavery.

∙ Christians can be prosecuted for saying that Allah is a moon god, or for drawing a picture of Mohammed, or for saying that Islam is a violent religion which breeds terrorists.

∙ Jews can be prosecuted for saying Jesus isn’t the Messiah.

Ireland Makes Blasphemy Illegal - Above bullet list lifted from here.

It does a good job condensing the crafty language for everyone to understand. This is both dangerous and ridiculous for everyone. This goes beyond insulting any freedom of speech people might have. This goes against freedom of religion and many other rights we thought we had at one point or took for granted.

I, for one, will be ten times as blasphemous as usual in support for all those atheist boys and girls panicking in Ireland because they own a book that is undoubtedly illegal to possess now. If the government looked over a curious reader's recent books checked out from the library, would they find anything worth fining? If someone checked out the popular book "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins, a warrant and a fine could be waiting for them at their front door.

I'm curious if this also means if a young man or woman is watching a blasphemous episode of South Park a little too loud with the windows open and offends their neighbors. Could the neighbors call the cops and have this person fined for watching a television show in which they have no creative attachment? This supposed hypothetical scenario does seem like a reality, sadly.

I will talk out loud to whatever imaginary supernatural being that only exists within our own collective imagination any reader might worship that this kind of law doesn't spread.

I hope Jim Jeffries had no plans for touring Ireland any time soon with his I Swear to God material.

Faith, the Ultimate Alibi

This piece I wrote tonight. I can claim it being original, free of plagiarism.

The mind craves to know where exactly we came from. If God was such a tolerable solution, why are there still questions from well educated and civilized folk on the origins of humanity? Many call all Atheist morons and even to go as far to say that they "flock", when isn't that exactly what the church going groups are labeled? Many probably have had some rather lame experiences with Atheist, I have as well, but I am certain I've had far more unpleasantness with the fundamentalist religious type.

To say that Atheist are moronic, idiotic flocks of misinformed non-believers, is quite a stretch seeing as Atheist vary greatly in age, race, backgrounds, and location. One great fact remains that an Atheist can still live a good life. If there are no consequence after this life, why would they care? Because they know that this life is their only life and they wish not to lose it. Would so many people willingly sacrifice themselves if they had the idea of only having this one life? Why eliminate themselves in the name of man made inventions such as country, government, freedom, and religion? The thought is baffling.

I've been Agnostic for most of my life, but I've studied and tried, but God makes no sense. There is science and it has only come so far. Theories may come and go, as do religions and holy books. Just that a certain religion and book have been around for thousands of years with so many followers does not make it true. The Egyptians worshiped Set for 3,000 years. How long will it be before your religion is labeled as a myth like so many other now ancient religions?

As for Darwin, he hinted towards agnosticism, but he also said, "The safest conclusion seems to me to be that the whole subject is beyond the scope of man's intellect; but man can do his duty." He also said, "“The mystery of the beginning of all things is insoluble by us; and I for one must be content to remain an agnostic." This does not make an Atheist a fool to study Darwin. He understood that the question of God always ends in a stalemate.

A theory may never be able to make a dent to the very foundation of religion without absolute solid evidence, which does somewhat exist, but ignored and taken out of context. More on that in a moment. As for religion, they have books written by man while other books written by man contradict the other book written by man while all declaring themselves to be the absolute word of God. What will it take? Finding life on another planet?

The human mind has not evolved to the potent level to understand the cosmos, how it began, and where it may go. With an ever expanding universe with many exo-planets discovered annually, what will happen to religion in the minds of man when life is discovered outside of our own little planet? The chances of finding life on a planet outside of our own known solar system is similar to trying to find the only nickel in a Pacific Ocean of quarters. It is estimated there are between 1 billion and 30 billion planets in the universe.

We know of over 170 exo-planets orbiting 150 stars, with a few discovered to have the same distance to their stars as we are to our very own sun. Life existing on another planet has been proposed to be a billion to one. We have a while before we know for certain if we are truly alone. Science has only come so far, but at least science is trying to explain the origin of everything while religion stands back and waits for science to make a mistake. Religion is exactly like the Republicans right now. They are waiting for the Democrats to slip up so they have their chance to say, "We told you so! We knew they were wrong!"

Speaking of mistakes and probability, did God give us this seemingly infinite universe with planets reaching further than our most powerful telescopes can see filled with sights that our minds cannot begin to comprehend? A Nebula, which in due time may be easily explained, has absolutely no true explanation currently. Does that mean they were the direct work of God or are there other forces in this universe working together creating walls of expanding gas and dust after a red giant star reaches the end of its life and collapses? Do we even know how exactly a star dies? It's too easy to come to the conclusion that God wanted this amazing event to happen light years from Earth instead of there being an absolute reason why.

Science has theories on such occurrences in the universe, but that is to the extent that our mind and body can explain such phenomenon. Science is trying, though. It's a very long process of waiting generations, but science is always evolving. Religion tends to stagnate like an uncovered, unchlorinated pool while claiming that God is the reason for all the beauty, wonder, and bewilderment in the universe.

This is not acceptable and there must be explanations not currently available to our kind that adequately explain the fact that I am currently writing this using prehensile thumbs to assist with the typing all the while this text, website, and code not only exist only in 1s and 0s, but we are capable of navigating and comprehending what we are seeing and doing, even though the images, people, and technology on the web cannot truly be held or put in a box. The Digital Age has revolutionized the way Man thinks, performs daily activities, and how they spend leisure time. Especially by allowing the ability to write blogs on the idea of there being absolutely no supernatural power over man.

If there is no God, that is not as a horrifying thought as one may think. While we have no supreme being, fate, destiny, ultimate goal, or intelligent design; we still have each other. It may not sound like much, but the next time a friend falls ill, pray for them. Ask everyone to pray. Evaluate with a novice diagnosis of their condition after several days and then allow them to visit a doctor. The doctor may cure or treat the illness, which means the cure or treatment was the direct result of man, without the interference of God magically ridding the offending bacteria from the patient's body.

Science is the reason we have a high percentage of successful childbirth. Science is the reason we can overcome an affliction with acceptable odds at times. Science is the reason everyone is able to read this article. Science is the reason I was able to write this article. Science is the only reason we now enjoy the Golden Age of our lives with great success. Life expectancy is forever on the rise now, while hundreds of years ago being short lived. Organs have been grown in laboratories in which were grown from the exact same DNA markup and cells from the patient. Eventually, science may overcome mortality, or at least, extend life expectancy over an age unimaginable in our time.

To the Atheist and most Agnostic intellectuals, it is impossible and improbable to truly disprove the existence of God. How can one diminish such a strong belief in the collective minds of the population of the planet? While the history of the most popular religions, even Scientology, are soaked in blood, it's hard to think that we cannot shake the idea of a supernatural being in a supposed civilized world. We are genetically hard wired to believe in god through our very own genes, as there are areas and people in the world that have no god, do not know a god, nor does their language ever describe a god for many of their generations.

Without meaning to single out any religion in particular, it should be clear that I target all of the religions of the world that hold a strong belief system in a supreme being. There is no justification, regardless of flock stats and age. There is no way to prove that one book is mightier than another, regardless of age, history, and background. There are only people to hold as proof. We are all that we have in this world.

An Atheist St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Saint Patrick was Roman born and held captive as a slave by the Irish in Ireland in his teens for years before escaping. He returned later as a Christian missionary. The rest of his life is unknown. A mystery. There is no known evidence about the work that he did, miracles performed, or any link to any church.

It's all a lie.

Why do people enjoy celebrating the lies of dead men who have absolutely no historical documents written about themselves until many years after their death? The lie eventually becomes the truth, the truth then becomes the legend. The legend exceeds what would otherwise become a myth and becomes fact.

Take these words into what you believe to be your soul. Think about Jesus. Sixty years passed after his alleged death before it was written that he existed. What was the life expectancy back then? Factor in the only people that really knew him were the poor, illiterate, uneducated, and enslaved. How long did they live? How well could they write? How delirious could they have become in confinement?

What else could possibly have been misinterpreted by Christianity aside from the life and times of Jesus Christ?

Oh, that's right. The Ten Commandments. You see, they were all really meant for Jew eyes only. This isn't racism, this is fact. This is the bible, which is full of enough genocidal, child killing, slavery endorsing, jealous God warring, racism to allow it last a very long time based solely on fear.

Different Christian denominations have different ways of combining the 17 statements made in the Bible that are declared to be, somehow, the 10 commandments. Truthfully, the commandments were originally given by the Lord to Moses as laws on how the Hebrews should conduct themselves. Only the Hebrews.

How could someone get this so incredibly wrong? What could have propagated this fabrication? Was it science? Was it stem cell research? Marijuana? Was it violence in video games? Soulless news reporters smiling while reporting on brutal child murders two feet from where it happened moments ago? No, it was man. Man created God and now that God rules the masses. We've created an imaginary monster.

To make another point, if I may, it goes without saying that immaculate conception is one of the somewhat smallest, but wickedest, lies. The Bible nowhere describes Mary as anything but an ordinary human female whom God chose to be the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ. But a Pope, Pope Pius IX, defined the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.

An ordinary man whose position is no where in the bible made up a fact about the mother of Jesus Christ. Does anyone else see this as a little perplexing? A pope has defined doctrines that clearly contradict the word of God. You see, religion does not need an Atheist using logic against an entity that exists that is the absence of all truth and rational reasoning.

Religion has does a fine job on tearing itself apart.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

Digital Depression

The Digital Age technology has been increasing at a very rapid rate. From the debut of the internet in the palm of our hands to the quarter inch thick LCD television set. The internet and other technologies such as carbon nanotubes and metal free transistors will allow a computer to be just about anywhere, even sewn onto clothing. There will be very few spots in this country where we will not be able to check our e-mail. With entire towns giving free wireless internet to the citizens tax free, there will be no reason why we cannot simply log on to check our mail at any given time of the day, regardless of the location. Technology will destroy all of our best excuses.

Even with the current and proposed technological breakthroughs, I still feel a little sad when I go through old photos, letters, and books. Everything has been digitized and in twenty years, no one will have any evidence that certain people existed because an email server in Texas went down taking all their precious memories with them. In snail mail, at least only fire or theft could truly destroy the memories, but with technology, we have many different factors that could wipe our memories including fire. It is sad that we will no longer have the amazing letters at our disposal to reminisce about when we are old and gray, only one worded or abbreviated responses in an old cell phone.

Perhaps it was the creation of e-shorthand that doomed our language for many years to come. When we receive a text message, the contents are usually rather brief and mangled. With letters replacing full words for speed, eventually, this quick-to-type language may replace our language in other mediums as well. Imagine that the 11 o'clock news no longer prattles on longer than twenty seconds per story because the amount of data and information they are being received is coming in faster than they can report. When an event happens, the world can know about it immediately. One man on a laptop in the middle of a war zone can perform podcasts telling the world of his or her thoughts and sights.

Digital transmission has become the absolute bane of our culture, yet, too convenient to not abuse. Eventually, it will be common for our digital picture frames to display incoming post cards and pictures on the fly by friends and family by them simply emailing them to a certain address. Imagine a digital camera that has the power to email without any additional software, it has an integrated wireless network card. With an entire town wireless, we will be able to send high resolution images by the gross within minutes the pictures were snapped. Future generations will be spoiled by not having to wait on the film to develop, but waiting on their current uploads because their ISP capped the bandwidth on their digital camera to a quarter of what it was for going over their monthly limit.

These are dark times and in the second Digital Age, it seems our hands are truly growing out of touch with reality and manual labor, which now includes hand writing messages instead of typing on a keyboard. I have to admit, writing more than a paragraph without it being homework related feels rather odd. Even then, majority of everything in college and late in high school was typed on a computer, unless, of course, detention is involved. Isn't it funny how in the future, detention will be truly a grueling punishment because the punishment will not have changed? Children will groan at the idea they may have to hand write disciplinary statements with a pen and paper repeatedly until the end of the day.

There are many reasons why it is necessary to move quickly to the next Digital Age for the technology being withheld and developed to be released over the next ten years will make our lives even easier. Nanotechnology is our future and the applications are limitless. Imagine an entire country creating enough weapons to arm every citizen twice over in record time. Perhaps the day will come when nanotechnology is in the home, albeit limited, but will allow us to ask the computer to create articles of clothing, food, and other objects of desire in minutes or even seconds. Not only will we be able to receive merchandise from a machine, but we could customize it to our liking. Computer, I would like a pair of maroon tinted turtle sunglasses with a built in digital camera with zooming capabilities.

Speaking of such advanced features for a machine, Artificial Intelligence will be the first action taken by a foreign entity to the human race that is not extraterrestrial. As of now, we only know natural disasters, the occasional animal attack, and another human being with an agenda. It may be cynical to confess that by the year 2030, computers will definitely be able to not only think on their, but plot as well. Our children may have to enter into intense diplomatic discussions with a man made of steel with a brain created meticulously by human hands. With these ideas in mind, the future may not prove to be a scary place, but it will be depressing.

Detroit’s on Fire and It’s Not Even Devil’s Night

The proposal for a $14 billion auto bailout died Friday morning. The Senate voted 52-35, eight votes short of legislation. This is a dark day for Detroit, but why is Chrysler asking for a federal handout? They are owned by Cerberus, one of the richest private investor companies in the world. Why is Cerberus asking for a federal hand out? That's easy. Profit and greed.

Even though they would lose a very small margin of their annual profits, they are too greedy to take a billion dollar bath. Cerberus made an investment and it failed. They do not want to rescue their investment and perhaps would rather see it collapse. They would then sell the company piece by piece, which is what they have been doing over the last year. Cerberus does not care about the auto workers, the economy, or Detroit.

After the failure of the Auto Bailout, maybe Cerberus will step up and make a drastic move. It's doubtful given this company's shady history and true motives for buying as much of Chrysler as they could. The future is clear now and Detroit will be taken off the map. No longer will this state look back in twenty years with fond memories of the Big Three. Job layoffs have been going on for a long time in large numbers monthly and it will begin to hit a slippery slope. By this time next year, China could own the Big Three, which they have expressed interest in as they have $2 trillion laying around for a rainy day investment.

If China were to buy at least GM, how would this affect the economy? How would this affect NAFTA? Plants might be relocated to cheaper production locations such as Mexico, but Mexico is right there behind us in a complete automotive failure. Canada has also been suffering. Though, they may remain in Michigan if picked up. Regardless, it's been on every news station that the auto industry in Canada, Mexico, and the United States is suffering terribly. Where does this lead the world if these three countries apart of the Free Trade Association fail? The Big Three outsold foreign companies for years and it is ridiculous that many have stated the buying foreign destroys our economy when the sales numbers really are quite staggering.

For the ignorant en masse with the annoying bumper stickers, buying foreign also promotes American jobs. There are a dozen foreign international car companies in this country employing over 100,000 American workers. Buying foreign not only keeps what little jobs we have available alive, but keeps thousands of people employed. Who is to say that foreign companies are ruining this country? We may have a problem if they were foreign owned allowing only foreign control and workers, but that is not the case. Buying foreign might not be the worst action you could take upon this fine country, but to refuse to buy foreign after the news for the Big Three would definitely hit another large group of individuals trying to survive in a recession.

People may have become brainwashed by their local union to believe that no one is buying domestic anymore. The numbers don't lie and domestic has outsold foreign by a pretty decent margin, but it's been overstated lately as to why we are hurting so much. With unions like UAW requiring a massive amount of money paid to autoworkers when the equivalent position overseas is $30-40 less per hour, well, there's your problem. The agreement for the bailout was to cut worker wages to a justifiable level. This is what broke the decision for a bailout.

Why does the failure of the automotive industry always have to be union related? Has anyone else seen this pattern over the last thirty years? We will allow the Federal Reserve to continue buying up failed banks after they traded debt around like it were a contagious disease. They were warned on their practices, but the federal government did not step into the scene to regulate because this might have been what they wanted. Now the Federal Reserve printed out trillions of dollars out of thin air to buy up failed banks of the United States. Why is the central bank of the USA buying up other banks and bailing out struggling crooked companies full of white collar criminals like AIG? Does this seem wrong to anyone else?

The Federal Reserve owns over 50% of this country's debt, now they own many failed banks. All of these people that complained when Fifth Third or National City bought out their local branch and made it into a franchise should be pretty irate right about now, but no one is complaining about the big game hunting. Our Central bank of this once great country is buying up all of this debt and failed companies with our tax money. Why? What is the point? Why are these same people from earlier this year not seeing this pattern emerge? Because after many years of being kicked in the face repeatedly with a metal boot covered in shards of glass, we eventually learn our place.

Enough digressing, we all know the truth. The biggest problem the Big Three had for many years is the selling of lemons. They fail to test these cars properly for whatever reasons, possibly the guy responsible drove it around and then feel asleep in the backseat. Very possibly, very probable. Now imagine this lemon is rolled out the plant and transported to a plant. This car is then sold to someone looking for a good deal and a reliable vehicle. Well, that consumer received neither. Not only should this model car have been recalled a decade ago after numerous gas tank explosions, but it has other problems than a fiery death.

Let's take for instance the Ford Focus. Your keys will become permanently locked in the ignition. What would you do? An expensive locksmith call, perhaps, or take it up to the dealership to have your checking account assaulted. Why has this been an ongoing problem for so many years? This is unacceptable quality and future models should have been held back earlier to pinpoint the issue before releasing the lot into the wild. Don't even get me started on exploding gas tanks of the Exploder. A decade of fiery deaths and cheap aftermarket plastic protection that ups the miles per hour someone has to rear end your Ford Explorer from thirty-five to forty-five to cause an inescapable explosion.

To hell with the Big Three, right? Detroit died a long time before any failed federal bailout and the Big Three squandered any chance of redemption after failing to pick up the idea of electric cars many years ago. Electric cars have been around for over 100 years and modern cars can be converted to electric for under $2,000. Why is there such a delay for this technology? Wouldn't you rather have your car run on a single drop of fuel rather than 20 gallons worth? What about taxi cabs that run on compressed air? That is not a hoax, there are cars that have engines that run on compressed air that cost less than $2 to refill. We should also note that even that technology isn't nearly as expensive as an internal combustion engine powered automobile.

Detroit, raise your glass for a toast. It's been nice, but thanks to short sighted CEOs and managers, bad decisions have caused the failure of what was once the toast of your town.

Sorry Microsoft, I’m Done

Update: The reason behind this blog is undoubtedly that Microsoft may be dropping Vista in favor of Windows 7. Excellent. Let Vista rest in stagnation because there are too many issues by users crying out to be fixed or give options to adjust certain annoyances. Ah, well. Windows 7, for me, will be the answer, but I feel sorry for consumers everywhere that invested in Windows Vista. This includes the latest expensive productivity software when earlier purchased versions should have sufficed and brand new Vista certified hardware.

Everyone has that one friend in their lives that never seems get things right, but try their best. They may imitate others because they probably have this crazy notion they aren't good enough on their own. What's worse is that they make mistakes. A lot of mistakes. Though, I wouldn't call this friend lazy, but he or she will sit on a resolution for months, or years, before attempting to repair the error. This kind of friend is not just a teenager, but is displayed through all spheres of life. This friend is quite literally everywhere you go. At first, regretfully, when you lose contact permanently, you seem to become a better person.

In my spheres of life, Windows has been that friend of mine. Microsoft has never learned from past mistakes, which has led to serious security compromises. We all vividly remember the Blaster worm and numerous other exploits. Well, here is a lovely little networking flaw that can be abused to crash Vista systems. It can allow rootkits to be hidden and DoS attacks to create chaos for your daily computing needs. Meaning that your Vista machine could be exposed to damaging attacks.

Well, I've been trying to keep up with Windows and stay optimistic, but I have to finally admit, Vista was a failure. Windows 7 seems more and more like what Vista would have been if they let it stay in the oven a couple more years. Windows 7 is going to be a failure as many people who already painstakingly upgraded to Vista now feel they will be pressured into upgrading to Windows 7. Though, Windows XP will not be retired for quite a while until Vista/7 get their game together; you will not be able to purchase XP in stores on preconfigured manufacturer computers. Only online through the same retailers.

I was sad to hear that Microsoft will address this vulnerability in their next service pack. There is no estimated release date for SP2 and I feel it will bring little to the table to resurrect Vista. The damage has been done and so many Windows users have felt cheated by a half-finished product, which is clearly evident now with videos displaying Windows 7 features and technology. Sure, it may be feature rich, but just like Vista, there is nothing that changed the productivity and convenience for Windows. Well, aside from easy to use parental controls.

Sadly, I'm telling Microsoft I'm done defending and supporting them and now it seems the once proud software giant has taken a knee during an important play. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have two more days to wait until the official release of Fedora 10. With a speedy GUI boot process and many other amazing changes, there will be no reason I will have to do anything Windows again besides emulate Windows XP. Come to think of it, I don't recall the last piece of software that won't install properly with Wine. Hell, even recent big name MMOs install under Linux now.

I used to actually enjoy Windows with the amount of customization and choices. Even though Windows XP wasn't quite "good" until Service Pack 2, that does not entitle M$ to give the same treatment towards Vista. At least try to hammer out security flaws when found. Albeit, Mac OS X is full of security flaws, at least Apple will hot fix them as soon as when it matters.

Kernel vulnerability found in Vista
